Mrs. Joy Coker-Valdez, 65, of Cartersville died Sunday, May 27, 2012 at her residence. A native of Bartow County, she was born October 7, 1946 to Clara Jean Cochran-Coker and the late Oscar Coker. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister-in-law, Cheryl Coker.
Mrs. Valdez was of the Baptist faith and was a housewife. She had a book published on Genealogy, something she enjoyed pursuing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be missed by those who knew her.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Fred Valdez; her sons, Kevin Clark, (Marie), Corey Clark, (Stephanie) and Erick Ingram, (Marsha); her daughter, Melissa Valdez; her grandchildren, Cameron Ingram, Payton Clark, Chase Clark, Morgan Ingram, Marina Clark and Emily Ingram; her mother, Clara Jean Coker; her brothers, Wendell Coker, (Phyllis) and Jeff Coker; her uncles, Robert and Clarence Cochran; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2012 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday.
