Milton “Snooks” Young, 69, of Ellijay died Saturday 15, 2008 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Born in White on June 7, 1939, he was the son of the late Talmedge Young and the late Bertha Young. Milton was a veteran of the United States Army and was a retired truck driver from Vulcan Mining. He enjoyed fishing, collecting guns, and spending time with his family. Milton was always busy doing something. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-son, Charles Watson; his grandson, Baby Wayne Ray; his siblings, Jay Young, Carolyn McGuire, Lucille Young, Marie Matthews, Talmedge Young, Francis Kasey, Tom Young, and Will Young.



Survivors include his ex- wife, Francis Young; his children, Brenda and John Maddux of Cleveland, Tennessee, Linda Hembree and her husband Charlie Green of Cleveland, Tennessee, Kimberly Cronin of Cartersville, Janie and John Blanchard of Ellijay, Steve and Audrey Ray of Cartersville, Keesha Rezutko of Cartersville, Tanna and Barry Lanham of Cartersville, Larry and Rose Marie Watson of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Jimmy and Debbie Nicholson of Cleveland, Tennessee; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; his sister, Hazel Young of Marietta; and his best friend and brother-in-law, Richard McGuire.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2008 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. David Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery.



Serving as pallbearers will be David Jordan, Charles Jordan, James Hembree II, David Bowlin, Steve Ray, and Chris Resutko. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 a.m. Thursday.



The family will receive friends from 5 – 9 p.m. on Wednesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
