Obituary for Charles Thomas Zinck, Sr.

Charles Thomas  Zinck, Sr.
Mr. Charles Thomas Zinck, Sr., of 1280 Dunn Road, Silver Creek, GA, died Wednesday, evening, March 31, 2004, in a local hospital following an extended illness.Mr. Zinck was born in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, May 6, 1944, son of the late Norman Franklin and Grace Elizabeth Koch Zinck. He was educated in the Public Schools of Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania and was a veteran of the Viet Nam War having served with the United States Navy. He was of the Methodist Faith and had been a resident of this area for the past 25 years. He was a life member of the of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, the American Legion Post # 86 of Cedartown, and a member of the Viet Nam Veterans. He enjoyed serving as Bingo Chairman at the VFW and playing Gin with his fellow members of the American Legion. Prior to ill health he was associated with Heuther Ornamental Iron.Mr. Zinck is survived by his wife, the former Gloria Jean Hill; two sons, Charles Thomas Zinck, Jr., of Rome and Earl Franklin Zinck of Stone Creek, Ohio; one daughter, Barbara Jean Zinck of Rome; one brother, Richard Wayne Zinck of Antesfort, PA; four sisters, Mary Breon of Antesfort, PA, Betty Myers of Jersey Shore, PA, June Roupp and Margaret Herbert both of Avis, PA. Four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services for Mr. Zinck will be held Saturday afternoon at 2pm at the East Rome Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Spears and Rev. Travis Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Rome Memorial Park with military honors accorded by the Cedartown Post 89 of the American Legion.Mr. Zinck will remain at the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends this (Friday) evening from 7-9pm and at other hours will be at the residence.Pallbearers serving include, Earl Franklin Zinck, Johnny Heuther, Bradley Womack, Jason Pyles, Fred Stout, Sr., Fred Stout, Jr., Gene and Wendell Parker.
