Obituary for Jack Rodney Vaught

Mr. Jack Rodney Vaught, 61, of Cartersville, died Monday, August 20, 2012 at Redmond Hospital in Rome.

Born June 26, 1951 in Longview, Texas, he was a son of the late Jack Rube Vaught and the late Lauris Heath Vaught. Mr. Vaught received his Bachelor of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas and worked for The Stroh’s Brewing Company in Longview for 22 years. While living in Texas, Jack enjoyed fishing and hunting. After the closing of Stroh’s, Jack moved to Cartersville, where he worked as the QA Group Manager for Anheuser-Busch for 12 years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed shooting sporting clays. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Sheryl L. Vaught of the home; son, Jackson Ryan Vaught of Cartersville; daughter, Jessica Lynn Vaught, also of Cartersville; sister, Lola Heckman and her husband Bill of Ashdown, AR; nephew, Derrick Heckman of Ashton, AL; and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Joe Nix officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be on Monday, August 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in Memory Park Cemetery in Longview, Texas.

The family suggests that those who wish may make donations to the charity of their choice, in memory of Mr. Vaught.
