Obituary for Gene A. Zaring

Gene A. Zaring, 65, of Euharlee passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at his residence.

Born on December 23, 1948, in Wichita, Kansas, he was the son of the late Johnny A. Zaring and the late Betty J. Houser Zaring-Spear. Gene was currently employed by Lockheed-Martin where he had been an Inspector for the last thirty years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed riding his motorcycle, working on his 1949 Chevy Deluxe, NASCAR, and was a part time crew member of Independent Race Crew with Gray Racing in Rome, Georgia. He was also an avid airplane enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife of forty three years, Sharon Knight Zaring of Euharlee; his daughter, Stephanie Zaring of Euharlee; his sons, Tommy Zaring of Cartersville and Steven Zaring of Cartersville; his sister, Linda Gutierez of Wichita, Kansas; his brother, Ray Spear of Wichita, Kansas; his grandchildren, Allie Zaring and Kendal Zaring of Cartersville and Cody Zaring, Kyle Zaring and Evan Zaring all of Euharlee and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with the Reverend Joe Nix officiating. Interment will be private.
