Obituary for Evelyn Mae Edmondson

Evelyn Mae  Edmondson
Mrs. Evelyn Mae Edmondson, 87, of Cartersville,passed away suddenly, Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Gilmer County on June 17, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Judson Clay Chastain, Della Mae Reece Chastain and step-mother, Lottie Millsap Chastain.
Evelyn was co-founder of Edmondson Business Service which was opened in 1955. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edmondson who died in 2000; her son, Rodney Edmondson; her brother, Everette Chastain; and her sister, Lola Belle Chastain.
Survivors include her brother, Charles Chastain (Betty), her children, Brenda Spradley (Barry), Joan Evans (Johnny), Ronald Edmondson (Janice) and Pam Southerland (Michael); her grandchildren, Kelley Hendrix, Camille Spradley, Krista Henley, Ina Evans, Carla Clark, Jessica Rahm, Eric Edmonson, Ian Southerland, Ira Southerland, Jeffrey Edmondson and Tom Edmondson; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2015 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Mike Boatwright and The Reverend Crawford Greeson officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Spencer Hendrix, Billy Henley, Eric Edmondson, Ian Southerland, Ira Southerland and Tom Edmondson.
Flowers will be accepted, but for those who choose, donations can be made to Atco Baptist Church.
