Obituary for Mary Jo Adcock

Mrs. Mary Jo Adcock, 76, of Cartersville, died Sunday, January 10, 2016 at her residence. Born August 27, 1939 in Folsom, GA, she was a daughter of the late Mr. Carl E. Harris and the late Mrs. Vaudie Self Harris.

Mrs. Adcock was employed by Bartow County School Systems for 31 years as a Cafeteria Manager. She was a great wife, mother and grandmother who loved unconditionally. As a member of East Cartersville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she was strong in her faith, and set a good example for all others. Mary was always positive, full of life, and loved everyone. Mrs. Adcock’s husband was a retired United States Air Force Veteran.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Raymond L. Adcock of Cartersville; daughter, Janet M. Fields (Ricky) of Cartersville; sons, Alvin Glenn Adcock (Dinah Lynn) of Cartersville, Barry L. Adcock (Mitzi) of Calhoun, Jeffrey D. Adcock (Michelle) of Cartersville; grandchildren, Andrea Adcock, Shannon Banks, both of Cartersville, Dana Sloan of Calhoun, Mindy Key of Canton, Ashley Wilkins, Marcus Cheyenne Fields, Aaron Fields, Justin Lance Brown, Zachary Brown, Erica Lilly, all of Cartersville; 13 Great-Grandchildren; sisters, Mickey McClure, Nellie Ann Clark, Laura Mae Coker, all of Adairsville, Clara Moran of Cassville, Ruby Register, Ruthie L. Jewell, both of Kingston; brother John Roy Harris of Kingston; numerous sisters-in-law; special friends, Cindy Kendricks, Pat Bauer and all other Christian friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Elder Ed Kelly and Elder Tom Oren officiating. Interment will follow in Hayes Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Servings as pallbearers will be Mark Bauer, Josh Bauer, Tony Costa, Mike Wickham, Kerrie Robinson and Demetrius Wyatt. Honorary pallbearers are Seth Costa and Alex Wickham.
