Obituary for Wayne Thacker

Mr. Wayne Thacker age 70 of Euharlee passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Redmond Regional Hospital in Rome. A native of Bartow County born July 24, 1946, he was the son of the late Lloyd Thacker and Ollie Green Thacker.

Mr. Thacker was of the Holiness faith and was a kind and sweet gentle man. People who knew him couldn’t help but love him and he enjoyed telling everyone he was their favorite. Wayne and everybody else thought he was good looking. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with them, especially with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Goocher and brother, Edgar Thacker.

Survivors include his children, Josh Thacker, Wayne Thacker (Regina) and Darlin Rose Locklear (Alex); his special sister, Sandra Thacker Springfield (Barry); his brothers, Harold Thacker (Lavern) and Lloyd Junior Thacker; his grandchildren, Warren Wayne Thacker, Jackson Locklear and Christopher Walker; along with his nieces and nephews, MaryAlice, OllieAnna and JonathanNeal.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 7, 2016 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Hoyt Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 1:30 p.m. on Friday prior to the service.
