Obituary for Weldon "Max" Roberts Jr.
Mr. Weldon “Max” Roberts, Jr., age 77, of Rydal, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at his residence. Born in Pine Log, Georgia on December 17, 1938, he was the son of the late Weldon Maxwell Roberts, Sr. and Jeanette Smith Roberts Elrod.
Max was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed watching NASCAR and all team sports. Max was a talented chef and loved to cook. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie Roberts and a brother, Billy Roberts.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Allred Roberts; his son Robby Roberts and wife, Beckie; his grandchildren, Eric Roberts, Jennifer Deal, Jason Ivester and Amberly Ivester; along with his great-grandchildren, Adlynn Roberts, Tucker Ivester and Peri Ivester.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m., November 4, 2016 at Pine Log United Methodist Church with The Reverend Eric Elrod officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Sharpton, Darrell Dover, Jim Gold beck, Jimmy Young and Don Allred.
