Obituary for Robert Eugene Cagle

Robert Eugene  Cagle
Mr. Robert Eugene Cagle, 80, of Euharlee, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Cartersville Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
A native of Bartow County, he was born on March 16, 1936, the son of the late Jesse Merrel and Maude Evelyn Caldwell Cagle.

Mr. Cagle was a member of Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church. He was a very determined and patient person. He enjoyed watching the old shows like Andy Griffith and Gunsmoke on TV. Mr. Cagle was an avid sports fan, enjoying watching NASCAR, Georgia Tech, Braves and the New York Yankees play. He loved to work on cars and listen to Bluegrass music. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Christine Thrasher Cagle.

Survivors include his children, Stary Ann and Jack Chastain of Dawsonville, Cindy Faye and Kevin H. Wankerl of Tomah, Wisconsin, Donna Christine and Mike Hesters of Douglasville, Robert and Barbara Cagle of Douglasville and Stephen Merrel and Christina Cagle of Euharlee; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Ann Goodwin of Cartersville, Marion Brock of Euharlee and Sarah Lou Hightower of Taylorsville; along with two brothers, Jerry Cagle of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Harry Cagle of Euharlee.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church with The Reverend Charles Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery. Mr. Cagle will be carried to the church on Tuesday where he will lie-in-state for one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Monday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Mr. Cagle’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
