Obituary for James "Tommy" Bruce

James "Tommy"  Bruce
Mr. James Thomas “Tommy” Bruce, age 66, of Fairmount, died on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Redmond Regional Hospital. Born on August 4, 1950 in Bartow County, and was the son of the late Norman Bruce and Plumer Bagley Bruce.

Tommy retired from Bartow Paving and enjoyed fishing and watching wrestling. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Sara Longwith, Johnnie Sue Emerson, Clifford Bruce and Odell Bruce.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Shelia Bruce of Fairmount; his children, Amy Bruce of Cartersville, Felicia Bruce of Florida, Jessica Bruce of Fairmount, Makayla Huskins of Fairmount, Donald Bruce of Cartersville and Coby Brown of Rockmart; one sister, Louise (Randall) Abernathy of Cartersville; along with several grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Mr. Parnick Jennings officiating. Interment will follow in Cassville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Jo Shook, Brint Abernathy, Michael Caylor, James Fox, Mark Bagley and John Munday.
