Mr. John Alfred Evans, age 66, of Cartersville, passed away at Cartersville Medical Center on Sunday, April 16 2017. He was born in Athens, Tennessee on September 19, 1950, to the late John H. Evans and Bette Renslow Evans Ford.

John was a very spiritual man. He was an avid sports fan that included all of the Atlanta pro teams. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball and loved studying history.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Edmondson Evans; his children, Krista Henley and husband, William, and Ina Evans; his grandchildren, Shelby Henley and Lane Keeton; his siblings, Carolina Lane and Shawn Evans; and several aunts ,cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Chaplain Don Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Joey McGill, Ira Southerland, Jay McGill, Shawn Evans, Spencer Hendrix and Eric Edmondson will serve as active pallbearers.
