Obituary for Christopher Carlson

Christopher Carlson
A final Salute to a military veteran, beloved husband, loving father and proud American:

Christopher Simon Carlson, 46, of Cartersville, passed away on April 16, 2017 at Redmond Regional Hospital in Rome. Born in Kent, England, United Kingdom on July 3, 1970, and was the son of Christina Carlson and the late Leonart Carlson.

Chris went to military school as a young boy and then served his country in the United States Army, where he earned numerous ribbons and medals with Honor and Pride. Chris had many interests and enjoyed history and geography, along with a passion and challenge for figuring out the “It can’t be done” things that life brought to him. Chris’s two great loves in life were the United States military and computers.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Carlson, and their marriage was based on their pledge to each other; ‘Honey, Forever and For Always, No Matter What.” He is also survived by his daughter, Katie Carlson; his mother, Christina Carlson; and his brother, Matthew Carlson.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 11 – 12:30 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Georgia National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas, 66675 or www.wounded warrior project.org.
