Obituary for John E. Fain

Mr. John Edward ā€œEā€ Fain, Sr., age 96, died on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Tranquility of Cartersville.

Born January 6, 1921 in Tunnel Hill, Georgia, he was a son of the late Andrew Jackson Fain and the late Lillian Sansom Fain. Mr. Fain was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and United States Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post 5408, and was retired from Lockheed Martin. E loved spending time with his grand kids and great-grand kids. He enjoyed fishing, Braves baseball, peanut butter, cheese, and black coffee. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Baynes Fain; and by a son, James Edward Fain.

Survivors include his son, Kenneth Fain and wife, Angelica; his grandchildren, Greg Fain (Gayle), Lori Wright, Stacy Fain and April Chastain (Joey); his great-grandchildren Amber Abernathy (Andy), Ansley Fain, Lauren Wright, Harrison Chastain, Autumn Fain, Kaysie Lee Wright and Michael Chastain; his great-great-grandchildren, Gavin Tatum, Olivia Abernathy, and John Rhett Abernathy.

Graveside services were held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Sunset Memory Gardens with The Reverend Michael Tutterow officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers were Greg Fain, Mike Wright, Andy Abernathy, Stacy Fain, Joey Chastain, and Layton Jenkins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Tranquility of Cartersville and Amedisys Hospice for the love and care they gave to Mr. Fain and his family.
