Obituary for Jack Everett Smith

Mr. Jack Everett Smith, age 85, of Cartersville, died at Cartersville Medical Center on Sunday, May 21, 2017. Born in Evansville, Indiana on December 8, 1931, he was the son of the late Merle J. and Marjorie Smith.

Mr. Smith was a member of St. Clements Catholic Church in Calhoun. He enjoyed cooking for his family, especially spaghetti. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Roderick Merle Smith; and brothers, Gene Paul Smith and Danny Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Arden Hassler Smith; his children, Michael Smith, Laura Ann de Wit (Casey), and Deniece Carol Bossard (Scott); his grandchildren, Jackson Jacob de Wit, Case William de Wit, Joshua Elliot Nordby and Ashlee Arden; along with four great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at St. Clements Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at 11:30 p.m. in the Georgia National Cemetery with military honors. Father Joseph Shaute will officiate.
