Willetta Lola Naftzger, 83, of Cartersville, went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2017 at her residence. Willetta was born on April 17, 1934, in Mitchel, Indiana and was the daughter of the late William and Harriet (Garnet) Barnhart.

Willetta and her beloved husband of 63 years, Sherman, were devoted believers in the Lord and treasured God’s grace and continual provision. She graduated from Indiana University. Willetta’s lifelong dream was to be a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her husband and children were her passion. She was a forever friend, cheerleader and supporter of her family’s interests and growth. Prior to the deterioration of her eye sight, Willetta was an expert seamstress who loved to sew and be creative. She made everything from simple items to elaborate wedding gowns. She also enjoyed cooking and honing her culinary skills over the years and had a passion for trying new recipes. Willetta was an active member in her church, the most recent being the church of The Apostles in Atlanta. She enjoyed being an active part of a woman’s bible study group and developing friendships there that lasted throughout the years. More than anything, Willetta enjoyed spending time with her family and being a constant encourager to all around her. She was a selfless woman who continually put others needs before her own. Her husband sings her praises and her children arise up and call her blessed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jack R. Vaught.

Willetta is survived by her husband, Sherman, originally of South Bend, Indiana; her children, Lois Ferrel and husband, Bob , of Canton, Ohio, Sheryl Vaught, of Cartersville, Bill Naftzger and wife, Debbie, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Becky Sullivan and her husband, Shawn of San Antonio, Texas, Paul Naftzger and his wife, Cheryl of St. James, Missouri, Elizabeth Brashears and her husband, Erik of Frisco, Texas; her brother, Donald Barnhart and his wife, Peggy of Gorden, Wisconsin; and her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 4, 2017 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Shawn Sullivan officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon – 1:30 p.m. on Monday prior to the service. A comital service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Georgia National Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted, but for those who chose, may make donations to a church of their choice.
