Obituary for Amy Elizabeth Fort

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of our daughter and our sweet sister, Amy Fort who passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 12, 2017. She was the daughter of Eugene (Sam) Fort and Joyce Hayes Fort.

Amy was truly an angel among us and touched the lives of all those around her. She was born May 18, 1985 and lived a full and joyful life 30 years beyond her life expectancy. We are heartbroken to have to finally say goodbye to our sweet girl.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother’s Betty Hayes and Virginia Lee.

Survivors include her parents, Sam and Joyce Fort; her siblings, Andy and Traci Fort, David and Cody Fort and Laura and Matt Oldroyd; her grandparents, Newell and Judy Hayes and Lloyd and Karen Fort; her sister-in-law, Jamie Fort; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints, 870 Peeples Valley Road, Cartersville, with Bishop Dave Giles officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a member of the family to help with final expenses.

The family would like to send a special thanks to all of Amy’s care takers who were so caring and compassionate and to all of those who have made contributions in Amy’s honor. We ask for your prayers and patience as we deal with the next few days ahead.
