Obituary for Ruby L. Pendley
Mrs. Ruby Lucille Beck Towery Pendley, 90, of Cartersville, died Monday February 5, 2018 at Maple Ridge Nursing home and went to be with her best friend and fishing buddy, James Pendley.
She was born in Dawsonville, Georgia on September 19, 1927, the daughter of the late William Beck and Pearl Lance Beck.
Mrs. Pendley was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker. She was a very strong resilient person and enjoyed cooking, especially the vegetables that James grew in his garden. She also enjoyed fishing. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Winfred Lee Towery; her second husband, James Pendley; five brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her children, Pat and Harry Gilbert of Marietta and Eugene and Janice Towery of Acworth; 7 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Greg Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maple Ridge Health Care’s Activity Department to the attention of Enola Hall, Activity Director or a donation to your charity of choice.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff of Maple Ridge for the loving care that they extended to our mother.
