Obituary for Mae Gravley

Mrs. Mae Gravley, 76, of Cartersville, died on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born on May 23, 1941 in Cobb County, She was the daughter of the late Floyd Scott Fortner, Sr. and Mary Lucille Clark Fortner.

Mrs. Gravley was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She was very generous with all she had. She loved to cook, work in her flowers, using her tablet, gardening and taking care of babies.

Survivors include her children, Rita Abernathy (James) of Cartersville, Wanda Hunton (Ron) of Kingston, Kathy Bennett (Hank) of Acworth and Clarence “Sam” Gravley III of Cartersville; her grandchildren, Marsha Ingram, Jamie Abernathy, Amanda Brown, Michelle Schmucker, Rebecca Bennett, Mariah Gravley, Ansley Gravley and Jonathan Gravley; numerous great-grandchildren; and her siblings, C.C. Fortner and Bennie Fortner both of Acworth.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Pastor Donald Hunton officiating. Interment will follow in Rolling Hills Cemetery in Acworth. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
