Obituary for Emma Lou Gravley

Mrs. Emma Lou Gravley, 69, of Cartersville, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ, on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Cartersville Medical Center. She was born to the late Odell Pierce and Mary Lou Tipton Pierce on May 21, 1948 in Cherokee County.

Mrs. Gravley was a member of Five Forks Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her loving grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wiley J. Gravley; sons, Walley (Gator) Gravley, Edward (Fred) Gravley and Tony Gravley; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Gravley; and brothers, Charles and Bobby Pierce.

Survivors include her children, Johnny (Fuzz) Gravley and Jenny Lou Gravley; her grandchildren, India, Brandy, Hollie, Bryant, Christina, Johnny, James, Hayvin, Kassandra, Krystal, Mark and Melissa; her great-grandchildren, Camryn, Bree, Kyla, Paizlie, Emily, Georgia, William, Marley and Sophia; her brother, Johnny Pierce; special nieces and nephew, Kathy Harris, Rhonda Kessell and Robert (Bob) Gravley.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Mark Harris and The Reverend Larry Hufstetler officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Acworth. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mickey Kessell, John Pierce, Fred Pierce, Junior Pierce, Billy Hennon and Jack Myrick. Cody Smith, Robert Bohannon, Jerimie Lieving and Randy Hufstetler will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the family.
