Obituary for Carole Lusson Olson

Mrs. Carole Lusson Olson, 83, died on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at her home in Cartersville, GA. She was born on September 28, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Ralph & Clara Lusson, parents who shared their strong Lutheran faith and Swedish heritage with their only daughter.

Carole worked as a secretary, when it was still fashionable to dress the part, at Braun Bosworth, a reputable investment firm in Chicago. She loved working in downtown Chicago, and enjoyed everything the Windy City had to offer in that era - fashion, French movies, restaurants, and jazz clubs. She married Lee Arnold Olson, and eventually retired from her job to devote all her time and energy to raising their two sons. She relocated to Montgomery, AL with her family in 1977 before moving to Cartersville in 2013 to be close to her grandchildren. Carole will be remembered fondly as a loving, proud mother and grandmother, who always exemplified class in her actions, as well as attire. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph & Clara Lusson, her husband of 52 years, Lee Arnold Olson, Sr., and her son, Lee Arnold Olson, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Peter Olson, and his children with Ellyn, Grey (13) and Eden (10) Olson.

A Memorial Service to honor Carole’s life will be held in Chicago, Illinois this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to any of the following: Bartow Literacy Council, PO Box 1164, Cartersville, GA 30120; First Presbyterian Church of Cartersville, 183 W. Main St., Cartersville, GA 30120; or Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter, PO Box 664, Cartersville, GA 30120.
