Obituary for James "Dale" Kuykendall

James "Dale"  Kuykendall
Mr. James “Dale” Kuykendall, 68, of Adairsville, died Friday, May 11, 2018 at his residence. Born on October 6, 1949 in Atlanta, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Frank Kuykendall and Ruby Nell Pitts Kuykendall.

Mr. Kuykendall was a U.S. Army veteran, having worked for Williams Bro. Concrete for 10+ years. He was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church. He played Gospel music with the Temples family for 20+ years. His grandchildren lovingly referred to him as “Paw-Paw”. He enjoyed fishing and had a great sense of humor. He was a very giving and selfless person.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Shirline Miller, Elizabeth Brooks; and his brother, Ralph Kuykendall. Survivors include his daughters, Katrina Smith (Jason Wilson) of Adairsville, Elizabeth Ray (Jason) of Adairsville; his son, Anthony (Paige) Kuykendall; his sisters, Pauline Hartness of Thomaston, Christine Hamilton of Newnan; his brothers, Dean Kuykendall of Acworth, Jimmy Kuykendall of Loganville, Pete Kuykendall of Port Wentworth; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Reverend Donny Summey and Reverend Jimmy Temples officiating. Interment will follow in Smith Family Cemetery in Adairsville. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2018 at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Smith, Jason Ray, Jason Wilson, Michael Kuykendall, Doyle Smith and Jesse Miller.
