Obituary for Shirley J. McBride Clark

Mrs. Shirley McBride Clark, 81, of Cartersville, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Cartersville Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Fulton County on December 11, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Louis W. Gary and Mary Echols Gary.

Mrs. McBride attended Mableton Church of Christ and Friendship Baptist Church. Mrs. McBride was widely known for her generosity and compassion within her community. She was known for her lifetime of selfless service in helping to provide meals and food for those grieving and less fortunate. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles McBride and 2nd husband, Ruben Clark.

Survivors include her children, Marie Lyons (Mike), Richard McBride, Tony McBride (Teresa) and Gary McBride (Traci); 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Jean Stephens.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Dr. Charles Sidlow and Bishop David Giles officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Denver Eldridge, Richard McBride, Mike Lyons, Will McBride, Gary McBride and Tony McBride.
