Obituary for Jackie Strickland

Jackie  Strickland
Mrs. Jackie Strickland, age 79, of Cartersville, died on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Townsend Park Health & Rehab.

A native of Bartow County, born September 13, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Jack Hyde and Ester Payne Hyde.

Mrs. Strickland was employed by Kroger as a floral designer before her retirement. She was a member of Cassville Baptist Church. She loved her family and living life; she had a great sense of humor and enjoyed keeping children. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Carl W. Strickland, Sr. and her daughter, Becky Griffith.

Survivors include her children, Carla Wilson and Carl Strickland, Jr. (Michelle); her grandchildren, Dustin, Josh, Matt, Jake and Lane; 5 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Joel Hyde (Linda), Jimmy Hyde (Pam), June Hight and Judy Otting (Michael); along with several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Sunset Memory Gardens with The Reverend Ovell Nation, Carl Strickland, Jr. and The Reverend Dustin Strickland officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Matt Beck, Jake Beck, Lane Griffith, Chris Edwards, Dustin Strickland and Greg Hight.
