Mr. Fernando Samaripa Valdez, Jr. 79, of Cartersville died Thursday June 28, 2018 at Cartersville Heights Nursing Home. Born January 29, 1939 in Mertzon, Texas he was the son of the late Fernando Valdez Sr. and the late Isabel Samaripa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Coker Valdez; his brothers Andy and Pete Valdez; and his sisters Mary and Odelia Valdez.
Mr. Valdez loved his family deeply and had a love to translate Spanish for others. He loved and cherished his dog “Puddles.”
Survivors include his daughters, Rosa (John) Pocian of Cartersville, Veronica Woody of Cartersville, Melissa Valdez of Cartersville; his son Freddie Valdez of Cartersville; his step-sons Kevin (Marie) Clark, Corey Clark and Erick (Marsha) Ingram all of Cartersville; 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; his sisters Margie Pena, Marty Valdez and Nancy Orona, all of Phoenix Arizona; his brothers Jerry Valdez of Phoenix Arizona and Danny Valdez of Colorado.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday July 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until 1:30 pm.
