Obituary for Jean Monday Gibson

Mrs. Jean Monday Gibson, age 64, of Taylorsville, died on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at her residence. Born in Gordon County on November 21, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Clebourne Monday and Ethel Cupp Monday.

Mrs. Gibson was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker. She enjoyed deer hunting and fishing and any other outdoor activity. One of her greatest pleasures was being a member of the Reel Men Outdoor Ministries. She was the only female to ever be invited to become a member. Mrs. Gibson fished in one tournament with Jason Rogers that Reel Men Out Ministries sponsored. She also enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales.

Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years, Roy Gibson; her children, Jimmy Gibson (Amanda Williams), April Thompson (Chris), Charles Gibson (Denise) and Mark Gibson (Karen); her grandchildren, Brittany, Katie, Justin, Hannah, Kyle, Wesley, Hunter and Everleigh; her great-grandson, Gunner; her sisters, Mary, Dorothy, Josie, Sally, Evelyn and Louise; along with her lifelong friends of over 40 years, Wyman Sherman and his wife Gloria and their son, Patrick and his wife, Molly.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
